Debbie Reynolds’ death was initially being linked to a “broken heart” after the loss of her daughter Carrie Fisher, however, the real reason for her death has now been confirmed
The world was shocked and saddened when Debbie Reynolds died, quite suddenly, only a day after her daughter, Carrie Fisher. Headlines described how Reynolds died of a broken heart, after the enormous grief of losing her daughter.
Now, following an autopsy, The Los Angeles County has confirmed on Reynolds’ death certificate that she died of a stroke.
The certificate was obtained by The Associated Press, revealing the cause of death was “intracerebral haemorrhage”, which is a type of stroke caused by bleeding on the brain.
The certificate sites high blood pressure as the underlying cause.
Reynolds passed away at 84 years of age, just one day after her daughter died of a heart attack. The mother and daughter had a joint funeral last week.
