All the stories you need to know this morning
There's going to be a Love, Actually sequel with most of the original cast
Most of us have probably had the thought, "What are the characters of Love, Actually up to right now? Are they happy?" Well, lucky for us, there's set to be a sequel, however, it'll sadly only be a ten-minute short film called Red Nose Day Actually and will be made in partnership with Comic Relief, a UK-based charity that raises awareness for poverty and social injustices around the world.
The special will be written by the original director, Richard Curtis, and will star Hugh Grant, Keira Knightley, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Martine McCutcheon, Andrew Lincoln, Olivia Olson, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Rowan Atkinson, Lucia Moniz, Marcus Brigstocke and Bill Nighy. That is A LOT of names!
“It seemed like a fun idea this year to do a special sketch based on one of my films… I would never have dreamt of writing a sequel to Love Actually, but I thought it might be fun to do ten minutes to see what everyone is now up to.”
“We’ve been delighted and grateful that so many of the cast are around and able to take part and it’ll certainly be a nostalgic moment getting back together and recreating their characters 14 years later.”
Grant Hackett's brother reveals more about his arrest
Grant Hackett's older brother Craig has spoken about the Olympian's arrest, saying the champ has gone from someone with "the world at his feet" to the point where "we don't know what's going to happen – it doesn't look encouraging".
Craig said the family no longer knew how to deal with Grant's erratic behaviour:
“The Grant Hackett that Australia fell in love with, they can still have that affection towards him... This is not Grant Hackett.
“This is a completely different person. I don’t know this person, my mum and dad don’t know this person. He’s there in body, but he’s not there in mind, soul or spirit.”
Grant was released three hours after his arrest, telling the media he was "not great". No one was harmed in the incident, but the 36-year-old "flew into an uncontrollable rage" and was stabbing a knife into a chopping block before his arrest.
Speaking with the Gold Coast Bulletin, Grant's father Nev said he called the police after the swimmer became abusive and aggressive:
“Grant’s got a medical problem and it manifested itself here this morning ... he was raving and ranting... He’s been receiving treatment from a doctor. He’s big and powerful when he’s not happy.
“We decided he needed some treatment but there was no way he was going to go and get treatment this morning so we called the police. The only way the police can do anything under the law of the land is to arrest him for domestic violence.”
“We’ve got a long battle... We’ll do anything to help him. Anything at all but it’s hard for people with this sort of problem.”
We hope Grant gets the help he needs.
Married At First Sight's John swamped with offers after breaking up with Deb
After leaving Married At First Sight , it seems Channel Nine has been swamped with emails from single women who would like to meet John, who has quickly become one of Australia's most eligible bachelors.
Last night on A Current Affair, ten women were introduced to the father-of-two who said, "I'm flattered. They might be very disappointed once they meet me... Actually I'm really rapt. It has been fantastic." Some women were very forward, with one inviting him back to her place to enjoy her spa! It must be nice to feel wanted after being with Deb!
Another My Kitchen Rules record set... the first vomit!
After a failed attempt at fish and chips last night by WA team, Josh and Amy Meeuwissen, rival contestant Alyse Jenner was sent running to the bathroom to throw up. Josh, who bragged to be a seafood king really missed the mark, scoring a measly one out of ten!
Josh has previously said on the show, "When it comes to the preparing and cooking of seafood, I would beat a five-star chef". Yeah, we find that hard to believe.
In case you missed it, Marvel has released a hilarious video revealing what Thor would do when he's not busy saving the world. Watch above.
