If it wasn’t already obviously, Elton John has well and truly made his feelings known about Madonna and her latest antics on tour. Madonna’s latest MDNA world tour – well, excluding Australia – has been plagued with gossip, bad reviews, and terrible stage antics from the woman herself.
And now, Sir Elton has had his say to an Australian TV station, fueled by Madonna’s comments about Lady Gaga stealing her songs. Lady Gaga is godmother to Elton’s son and Madonna was quoted as saying on stage “I thought, ‘What a wonderful way to redo my song’” – about Gaga’s hit Born This Way.
Elton John hit back hard saying: “Why is she such a nightmare? Sorry, her career is over. Her tour has been a disaster and it couldn't happen to a bigger c***.”
To the media’s delight, he continued “If Madonna had any common sense she would have made a record like Ray Of Light and stayed away from the dance stuff and just been a great pop singer and make great pop records, which she does brilliantly.
“But no, she had to go and prove... she looks like a f****** fairground stripper. She's been horrible to Gaga.”
The feud between the two musical legends has waged for years and Elton’s partner David Furnish jumped in on the action at this year’s Golden Globes when Madonna’s track won out of the Elton John and Lady Gaga for Best Original Song.
David vented to twitter, saying:: “Madonna. Best song???? F*** off!!!”
And continued later “Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in its narcissism. And her criticism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is.”
