Robbie Williams, one fifth or boy band Take That, was scheduled to perform at the Closing Ceremony set to take place in London on Augst 12 of this year. However, it's been reported that Williams has pulled out of his commitment due to the impending birth of his first child.
Williams was rumoured to be preparing to sing a single of his own and a cover of David Bowie's 'Life On Mars.' However, since the realisation that his wife would be giving birth around the same time as the ceremony, Williams has chosen to bow out.
The organisers seem a little peeved though, telling the Daily Mirror "Robbie quit a few weeks ago. He had been lined up to perform solo material and it was hoped he would sing with Take That. However, just as rehearsals were kicking off, he said there was an unfortunate clash of dates. It meant organisers had to adjust the entire schedule, because Robbie is an extremely high-profile performer, and had been given such an important role in the finale."
The Who, George Michael, Emeli Sandé, and Robbie Williams' old band Take That are al still set to appear at the ceremony.
