The ex-beatle recieved australian $1.57 for his performance last weekend at the Opening Ceremony.
Considering Sir Paul is reportedly worth over $1 billion he essentially essentially performed for free, to the worldwide audience.
The teeny tiny pay packet is said to have been a nominal fee to make the singer's contract to the Olympics binding, and fellow Opening Ceremony performers Mike Oldfield, Dizzee Rascal and Emeli Sande, also received the nominal fee.
Although, Emeli Sande told The London Evening Standard she's yet to see the £1 appear in her bank account!
"I got paid a pound for my work. It's there in print and I know because I signed the contract myself. Mind you, I haven't received anything yet! When I do, though, that pound will be truly special," said the 24-year-old singer.
