My List of 21 Things You Can Do Right Now To Improve Your Life
#21 EMBRACE AGEING... most people wish they could avoid aging, but studies show that we're happier as we get older. Experts theorize this could be because the older we get, the more we reflect on positive experiences. Sounds like a great reason to love those birthdays.
#20 ASK WHY, BE CURIOUS... why is one of the most powerful words we humans have. it opens doors… Next time someone tells you something, instead of accepting it, ask why, dig deeper. Learn.
#19 LOVE LIKE A PUPPY… let people in, love unconditionally. If your heart gets broken, it will heal, and you will learn.
#18 BE OPEN MINDED… we don't know it all, we never will… we can't possibly understand everything so be aware of that.
#17 TRAVEL… traveling gets us out of our corner and opens us up… we grow. traveling can lead to some great introspection and thought provoking experiences.
#16… BE YOURSELF... be you… it takes a massive amount of energy to try being someone different… all I ask is that you be kind.
#15 LISTEN… Let’s stop thinking about what we are going to say/ and listen to what they are saying… then when they’re done, take a second to think about what you want to say.
#14 TALK TO PEOPLE… what's the worst that can happen? They’ll ignore you? Be rude…? So what, you never have to talk to them again. talking to people opens our world, you might learn something or better yet, meet someone fabulous! (i do this all the time!)
#13 KEEP YOUR PHONE IN YOUR POCKET WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS… you can always use technology, you won't always have time with your loved ones.
#12 BE SELFISH… (sometimes)… yup, we all need to step away from the world to get some perspective… you cant really see the mountain if you’re sitting on it… right?
#11 BE CHARITABLE... with not just our money, also with our time… maybe it’s as simple as smiling at that person across from you on the bus who looks upset/maybe asking if they’re ok.
#10 BE GRATEFUL AND THANKFUL… it’s good to stop for a moment and think about everything that we have in our life… even if it’s the phone you’re texting or .. this radio your listening to… (for which i am grateful you are!)
#9 STOP AND SMELL THE ROSES… yeah we all need to recharge the batteries.
#8 LAUGH AND SMILE... as often as we can. having a bad day? first smile, a big one.. ear to ear … force it if you have to. smiing doenst just happen when we’re happy, but it always makes us happier…. it’s been scientifically proven.
#7 LET GO OF GRUDGES... let go of hate… evidently it takes a lot of energy to be mad at people, so why bother. and if someone continues to inspire these feelings in you, let them go… simple as that.
#6 SAVE MONEY... aggressively, they say if you do, you’ll be extremely happy…
#5 HAVE MORE SEX… A recent study found those who frequently engage in the activity also make more money and it can keep your heart healthy…
#4 READ BOOKS… they’re saying here.. get off the internet, no more 3 paragraph articles… books inspire thinking, creativity …and can often lead to more sex (ok i made that bit up…)
#3 DON'T MAKE EXCUSES… just do it…
#2 STOP PUTTING IT OFF TIL TOMORROW… that never works out well.. (my pop used to say to me do it now, do it well… and it’s DONE DONE. )
The #1 thing we can do to make our lives better right now is…
EXERCISE... Evidence shows, when we do, we sleep better, have less stress and we’re better at dealing with all that life brings.
