Adele Teases New Music And Opens Up To Fans In Candid Birthday Post

By Brynn Davies May 6, 2019

"30 tried me so hard."

Adele got super real in an Instagram post yesterday; the most we’ve heard from the singer since she announced her split from husband Simon Konecki in April.

Sharing photos on her official account to mark her 31st birthday, Adele revealed the last year “tried me so hard.”

“This is 31…thank f**king god,” the Hello singer posted alongside four black and white images.

“... but I’m owning it and trying my hardest to lean in to it all. No matter how long we’re here for life is constant and complicated at times.

“I’ve changed drastically in the last couple years and I’m still changing and that’s okay.”

The Grammy winner sounds positive about the challenges ahead of her, continuing:

“31 is going to be a big ol’ year and I’m going to spend it all on myself. For the first time in a decade I’m ready to feel the world around me and look up for once.”

She also teased new music.

We know there’s an album in the works - which Adele revealed she was working on when the news of her divorce broke - but no one knows to expect of the record.

According to her bday post, however:

“... 30 will be a drum and bass record to spite you. Chin up eh."

So, the new Adele heartbreaker will be a drum and bass album. That’s… interesting.

Jokes aside, we’re beyond excited for any new music the queen of ballads deems worthy to share with us. Drum, bass and all.
