Cameron And Alison Daddo Launch Tell-All Marriage Podcast

By Brynn Davies May 23, 2019

28 years down the track and the pair are still happily married - though not without their bumps.

Having your first love last the distance is the stuff of rom-coms and teenage fantasy.

Cameron Daddo, at the time an aspiring actor, met his wife Alison when she was 20. The two were engaged within months and married a year later.

28 years down the track and the pair are still happily married - though not without their bumps.

The ‘90s heartthrobs are now hosting a tell-all 10-part podcast called Separate Bathrooms and Other Handy Marriage Tips, delving into the good, the bad and the ugly of their relationship behind closed doors.

As one of Australia’s most lauded super couples, Cam is a multi-award winning entertainer and media personality, as well asthe host of smoothfm’s evening show. Alison was Australia’s modelling Golden Girl, gracing the covers of the biggest magazines of the day, including Cleo and Dolly

The pair took off to LA for work not long after they tied the knot, and didn't return to their home country for the next 25 years.

But while all may appear perfect from the outside - three beautiful children, high-profile careers and life abroad - they’ll be sharing intimate stories from their marriage that never made it to the headlines.

From miscarriages, relationship hurdles, counselling and dealing with the pressures of social media, Cam and Alison will talk to issues they have faced, as well as converse with couples and newlyweds who have lasted the distance.

“For me I think it’s important to share that you don’t get to 28 years without an enormous amount of work, a hell of a lot of struggle, a tonne of tears and pain, and I don’t want people to ever think, wow, look at my marriage compared to theirs," explains Ali of the podcast.

"There is so much more behind the scenes of a marriage and, for me, I like hearing stories, and I can relate – if it helps with my own journey, then why not share our story.”

Separate Bathrooms and Other Handy Marriage Tips launches on Thursday 23 May. You can stream it on Acast, or wherever you get your podcasts.
