Cameron Diaz Opens Up About Marriage To Benji Madden

By Ally Parker August 7, 2019

It's been too long between drinks.

Cameron Diaz announced her retirement from acting in 2018, four years after her last role (in Annie btw).

Since then, the Charlie's Angels star has been super quiet. She's barely on social media, doesn't give many interviews and has been devoting her time to, well... herself (jealous tbh).

So you can imagine the hullabaloo that has followed her rare chit chat with InStyle.

Couple that with a gush or two about her husband Benji Madden and we can’t look away.

She told InStyle that getting married to the Good Charlotte member was "the best thing that ever happened."

"My husband's the best. He's the greatest human being, and he's my great partner," she added.

As for acting, Cameron, now 40, explained that she felt she had given "more than half" of her life to the public.

"I feel it’s OK for me to take time for myself now, to reorganise and choose how I want to come [back] into the world. If I decide to. I don’t miss performing."

"It’s fun to just not have anybody know what I’m up to. Because my time is mine. I’m not selling any films, and because I’m not selling anything, I don’t have to give anybody anything. I’m not doing this anymore. I’m living my life."

Cameron went on to say she is looking to the "landscape of wellness" following on from her two existing books of health and wellbeing.

"I love everything that my girlfriends are doing, like what Gwyneth Paltrow has done with Goop and my sister-in-law, Nicole Richie, with her [fashion house] House of Harlow."
