Season three of The Crown is approaching - and it's time for Camilla to join the party!

The Netflix royal drama has been an award-winning success since its first season, with beautifully-cast actors playing Queen Elizabeth II, her family and the people in her life.

Season three promises to document the early romance between Camilla Parker-Bowles and Prince Charles, with the season spanning royal happenings between 1964 and 1976 - no Diana, then.

Netflix confirmed today that British actor Emerald Fennell will be playing the young Camilla, in the dramatisation of her adventures long before she become the Duchess of Cornwall.

Emerald had this to say about her new gig:

“I’m absolutely over the moon, and completely terrified, to be joining so many hugely talented people on The Crown.

“I absolutely love Camilla, and am very grateful that my teenage years have well prepared me for playing a chain-smoking serial snogger with a pudding bowl haircut.”

Prince Charles, played by Julian Baring in the show's first two seasons, will now be played by Josh O' Connor, with Olivia Colman replacing Claire Foy in the main role of Queen Liz.

Other confirmed cast include Helena Bonham Carter as Queen Margaret, Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip, and Ben Daniels as Lord Snowdon.
