Meghan Markle’s Royal title is probably not what you’re expecting

The countdown is on, guys!

Meghan Markle is set to marry Prince Harry ~this~ weekend, which means she will officially be entering into the Royal Family and so, will be given a Royal title as a result.

As Mamamia has highlighted, once Markle marries her man, her title will officially become Her Royal Highness Princess Henry of Wales (quite the mouthful, we know).

The reason behind this is that Markle is only becoming a princess through marriage. She is not of Royal blood herself, so must have her husband’s name (Henry is Harry’s birth name) included in her title.

It’s believed that the Queen will likely grant Harry a royal dukedom on his wedding day (Duke of Sussex, assumedly) which will give Meghan the title of Duchess of Sussex, as well. And let's be honest, that's a hell of a lot easier to say than Her Royal Highness Princess Henry of Wales.
