David Bowie's son announces he's expecting a baby one month after death of music legend

David Bowie's son, Duncan Jones, has announced he's expecting a baby - one month after losing his father.

Duncan took to Twitter to reveal the bittersweet news, he wrote, "1 month since dad died today. Made this card for him at Christmas. Due in June. Circle of life. Love you, granddad."

Bowie passed away on January 10 following a private 18-month battle with cancer, but it seems he was able to find out the wonderful news before his passing.

Duncan is expecting his first child with wife, Rodene Ronquillo, a photographer who was diagnosed with breast cancer on the same day the pair married on November 7 2012.

Luckily for the couple, Rodene was given the all-clear after undergoing chemotherapy and a double mastectomy.

Rodene also shared the news on the social networking site and wrote, "Shame on those of you who just thought I was really fat and didn't say anything. HAHA." 

Duncan was one of the first to confirm his dad's passing with this tweet:

Two weeks later he returned to the social networking site to thank everyone for their "kind words and thoughts".
