"He's a handsy guy."

Guy Pearce is the latest star to join Andrew Denton on his show Interview and the Aussie actor is making headlines after telling a disturbing story about working with Kevin Spacey.

Last year Spacey was publicly accused of sexual assault and misconduct. One of the first men to come forward was Anthony Rapp, who alleges he was just 14 when Spacey, then 26, made sexual advances towards him.

Denton asked Pearce about his experiences working with Spacey on LA Confidential in 1997 and the actor responded:

“Yeah … yeah. Tough one to talk about at the moment. Amazing actor; incredible actor. Mmm. Slightly difficult time with Kevin, yeah."

He then added:

“He’s a handsy guy.”

The audience audibly gasped after Pearce said the words and he continued:

"Thankfully I was 29, and not 14."

Denton also asked about Pearce's former co-star and friend Kylie Minogue, to which he quipped:

“Divine. Not as handsy as I’d like her to be."

“I sort of had a crush on her [during Neighbours]; I have more of a crush on her now.”

He also opened up about the breakdown of his 18-year marriage to childhood sweetheart Kate Mestitz in 2015.

“I’ve spent the last couple of years making sure I protect Kate in all this, and not really saying what happened, and particularly not saying that it was her decision to end the marriage. I’ve realised that I’m actually not doing her any favours in this — aside from the fact I have people coming up to me saying ‘You’re a bastard for having an affair with Carice and getting her pregnant and then leaving your wife’ and all this.”

“I’m actually really proud of Kate for what she did. As sad as it was for me, for her to go ‘You know what, our time’s up’ was incredibly strong of her. I’m very proud of her...”

The actor added that it hadn't been an easy breakup for him, he drank to excess and had a "death wish" – at one point he even contemplated walking into traffic.

“I thought, well, if I get drunk enough and I stagger onto that road, we’ll see what happens.”

Pearce has since found love with Game of Thrones actress Carice van Houten, who he shares his young son Monte with.
