Hollywood Superstar Katie Holmes Will Be In Sydney For McHappy Day

By Christina Cavaleri November 15, 2019

Here's where you can meet her!

It's McHappy Day tomorrow and the team at McDonald's has international actor Katie Holmes flying in especially for it, as heard on the More Music Breakfast show with Bogart and Glenn.

Katie was announced as the 2019 Ambassador for McHappy Day, an annual fundraiser run by McDonald’s back in September. This year’s event will be held on Saturday 16th November, with Katie front and centre.

Katie first blessed our small screens over 20 years ago on the hit show Dawson's Creek. So you can expect there's going to be a lot of nostalgic fans waiting to catch a glimpse of Katie.

Bogart and Glenn spoke to Jo Feeney, McDonald's Marketing Director about their big day ahead tomorrow:

"Katie Holmes is in Australia which we're thrilled about, to have her as our ambassador for McHappy Day this year.

"Katie will actually be down at Haberfield McDonald's early in the morning tomorrow."

In a statement that was released to media in September Katie said:

"I’m proud to be named the 2019 Ambassador for McHappy Day and I’m really looking forward to being in Australia for this important event.

"McHappy Day raises funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities, ultimately helping to keep families together while their sick or injured child undergoes treatment.

"I can only imagine how much that helps the child and reduces the impact on the family unit."

You can catch Katie at the Haberfield McDonald’s from 7am tomorrow morning.

Last year, McHappy Day raised an amazing $4.9m for Ronald McDonald House Charities Australia

You can donate by purchasing the following in any restaurant: $2 or $10 Helping Hands, $5 Silly Socks, 10c from every 600mL bottle of water sold goes directly to RMHC, $2 from every Big Mac sold on McHappy Day goes directly to RMHC.

Alternatively, you can show your support for Ronald McDonald House Charities by donating in donation buckets or at a Macca’s Kiosk.

You can also choose to round up your order total to the nearest dollar at the Drive Thru, front counter and at McCafe.

The charity helps keep families together while their seriously ill child undergoes treatment.

Since its inception in Australia in 1991, McHappy Day has raised more than $46 million for RMHC in total.
