“He’s got a real soft spot for her."

While it was reported this week that Camilla Parker Bowles tried to break up Prince William and Kate Middleton, it seems the opposite is true for Prince Charles and Meghan Markle.

A source close to the royals has told Vanity Fair that Prince Charles loves Meghan, who married Prince Harry in May this year.

They said:

“He’s got a real soft spot for her and thinks she’s the best thing to have happened to Harry.”

Charles stepped in for Meghan’s dad and walked the Duchess of Sussex down the aisle.

Rumours began swirling last week that Charles was feuding with Harry and William, however, Clarence House called the story “complete fiction”.

A source revealed the family is closer than ever:

“The wedding was a real turning point.

“Charles showed so much love towards Harry and Meghan, and I think Harry will be eternally grateful to his papa for stepping in and giving Meghan’s hand in marriage.

“The bond between them is very close.”

They also added Prince Charles is “closer than ever” to Harry and is forming a “lovely relationship with the duchess”.

Meghan’s father has made a habit of going to the press and it appears Prince Charles sympathises with his daughter-in-law.

The source added:

“Charles has been very supportive of Meghan and everything she is going through with her own father.”

Very sweet!
