Serena Williams Just Made A Huge Statement With Her French Open Outfit

By Krisinda Merhi May 28, 2019

Not a catsuit, but better.

Yes, it’s been a year since Serena Williams wore a catsuit to the French Open.

Which means it’s been a year since the tennis tournament banned competitors from wearing catsuits, despite how badass Serena looked in it.

But if there’s a lesson in all of this, it’s that you don’t mess with Serena Williams.

The tennis legend has returned to the tournament this year looking fit and fierce as ever with an outfit that tells the French Open exactly where to stick it.

Serena’s get-up is custom Nike x Off-White design and is covered in empowering words in french.

Words like “champion”, “mother” and “goddess” cover the fabric and make the perfect statement.

Take a closer look:

That statement is a massive middle finger to all of Serena’s haters, critics and, of course, the French Tennis Federation that gave her grief last year.

Serena wore the outfit during her opening match against Russia’s Vitalia Diatchenko.

She came from behind to win the match 2-6, 6-1, 6-0 and will progress to the next round.

We’d love to say Serena’s boss outfit was the reason she one (look like a badass, play like a badass) but we wouldn’t be doing her raw skill any justice.

Long story short: Serena Williams is a legend in tennis and all things life.
