Thomas Markle lives worlds away from his daughter Meghan!

Meghan Markle has had the world's attention recently after getting engaged to Prince Harry, and while she's enjoying the spotlight, her father couldn't live a more different life.

Thomas Markle, the man set to become Prince Harry's father-in-law, has been pictured by DailyMailTV living a quiet life in Rosarito, Mexico. The 73-year-old lives a very secluded life in a small yellow house that sits on a clifftop overlooking the ocean.

It's been confirmed Thomas will be attending his daughter's wedding and will walk her down the aisle, when approached by the publication, he said, "I can't speak out of respect for my family. I just can't."

The former Emmy-winning lighting director is enjoying his retirement living a quiet life and spends much of his time relaxing in his home.

Ramon Moreno, a friend of Thomas', told DailyMailTV, "Tom is a good man," adding that when they met, one of the first things he ever said was:

"Have you heard of Meghan Markle... I am her dad."

Moreno also said:

"He was proud of her when she was in Suits, even before she was with the Prince. I am sure Tom will be there at the wedding. He will want to be there. He will be so happy."

"He has spoken about Meghan and Harry... He talked about her and Harry before it was news all over the world."

"He loves his daughter very, very much. He says they talk regularly."

Meghan has called herself a "daddy's girl" and previously spoken fondly of her father, however, when she was just 18-years-old it's believed the pair weren't on the best of terms.

Thomas appears content to live his life alone, it's not believed he has a partner and hasn't spoken much about his other children according to Moreno, who added:

“He's the best guy and a good person. I think that shows in Meghan, too. She's good with people and I think that's down to him.”

Meghan's uncle Michael has said that Kensington Palace encourages him keeping a low profile:

"Tom is trying to comply with the royal directive to keep a low profile, so that's where he's coming from. He doesn't want to upset the Royal Family."
