Elsa Li joins the Callebaut Test Kitchen

By Kathrine Holland July 15, 2017

When floristry met pastry, the beautiful Petal Met Sugar was born. We are excited to welcome Pastry Chef Elsa Li to the Callebaut Test Kitchen for the very first time!

Elsa Li began her foray into pastry at the boutique five star hotel The Observatory Hotel in 2010 under Chef Masahiko Yomoda, after graduating in Patisserie, French gastronomy at Le Cordon Bleu Sydney. Since then, Li has worked for Adriano Zumbo as well as Merivale. In 2015, Li took a chance at a life-long dream and opened the doors of her very own dessert shop, Petal met Sugar.

Petal met Sugar is a joint venture with business partner and florist Angela Wong. The florist meets patisserie produces beautiful florals and desserts for events, weddings and also encompasses a workshop space in Woolloomooloo, Sydney where customers can come and enjoy the delicate desserts created by Li. One of the signature desserts that embodies the very meaning of “Petal met Sugar” at the store is the Terrarium – a chocolate dome filled with a seasonally flavoured pannacotta, edible soil and flower garden.

Elsa will be appearing on the Callebaut Test Kitchen for the very first time on Saturday 12 August at 5pm. To enter to win a seat at Elsa’s demonstration head here.

The Callebaut Test Kitchen is designed and built by the team at Knebel Kitchens and will be located on the Overseas Passenger Terminal Forecourt.
