By Ally Parker October 8, 2018

We learned last week that chocolate purveyor Max Brenner was heading into voluntary administration due to hefty costs and low sales.

While original reports stated that all national stores would remain open, news has broken today that 20 of the 37 chocolate spots will close.

So, more than half... report that staff at the affected locations will be made redundant as administrators try to sell or recapitalise the business.

“The decision to close stores is always regrettable but in this case we were left with no choice following a store-by-store review of Max Brenner operations,” administrator Barry Kogan told

^^^ no more!

Nine stores will remain open in NSW, four in Vic, three in Qld and one in the ACT. Max Brenner will no longer be present in WA, SA and NT.

Either way, a sad day for waffle and chocolate lovers alike.
