We've all probably dreamed of having a beach paradise all to ourselves, or a never-ending blanket of snow without a soul in sight. And wouldn't it be amazing to come across an amazing city that's relatively untouched by tourists? 

As the new year dawns, our desire to discover and explore new frontiers is awakened, but how do we know which places are exciting, yet not crawling in tourists? Thankfully for us, has dug out the trending destinations for 2017.

Based on the growth in people's searches, analysed the destinations to find the most aspirational places to visit next year. These patterns have revealed some amazing destinations for Australian travellers.

1. Seattle, USA


Seattle is a northwestern city surrounded by water, mountains, evergreen forests, and acres of parkland. Travellers in 2017 must visit the city’s most iconic landmark, the Space Needle! 

2. Lisboa, Portugal


Lisboa is Portugal’s hilly, coastal capital city. Full of culture and history, from the gorgeous beaches to its iconic pastel-coloured buildings – this city a must-see for all travellers in 2017. 

3. Reykjavik, Iceland


On the coast of Iceland, Reykjavik is the country’s capital and largest city. Travellers in 2017 can pamper themselves at the geothermal Blue Lagoon Spa – located in a real lava field! 

4. Saint Petersburg, Russia

10. Banff, Canada


Banff is a resort town located in the Rocky Mountains, an excellent destination for adventurous travellers in 2017. The surrounding 6,500 square kilometres of parkland are home to and abundance of wildlife, including elk and grizzly bears.
