We’re not crying, you are!

To celebrate her son’s birthday, Carrie Bickmore took to Instagram to share a photo of two of them on the day he was born. A clearly exhausted Carrie is seen lying next to her newborn, Oliver. She wrote:

“This here is one exhausted, overwhelmed, scared mama, in shock over what her body just went through and unaware of the terrifying health issues that lay ahead for her in the coming weeks.

“What this tired mama didn't realise was just how awesome life would be with this little old man in it. Ollie we have been on a big journey together honey, but raising you has been the easy bit.

“I never take for granted how lucky I am to have been given the chance to watch you grow are the kindest, happiest, funniest, and most resilient young man. Your dad would be so proud of you who are.”

She added:

“Happy 10th birthday. Don't ever stop snuggling next to me (well maybe one day-but not yet!)”

Carrie suffered from mastitis and postpartum haemorrhages in the weeks following Oliver’s birth. Three years later Carrie’s husband, Greg Lange, died after a battle with brain cancer.

She later met Chris Walker, her current partner, and in 2015 the pair welcomed daughter Evie.
