BREAKING: Police find a woman's body in Melbourne serviced apartment

UPDATE 17/7 7:23AM:

There is still a lot of mystery surrounding this woman's death.

After questioning four men for most of yesterday it has now been discovered that one of the men woke up at around 8 am and found the woman dead in the shower.

The four men were released without charge pending further enquiries.

Overnight forensic tests were taken and the police have tested the woman for illicit drugs - we are still awaiting the results of the tests.

It is still unclear who this woman was or how she died.

Police are hoping someone will recognise the description and come forward so more information can be gathered. 

She is aged in her 20s and was wearing a black long sleeve top, denim shorts and white runners.


UPDATE 16/7 6:21PM: Seven News reported the apartment was rented for a bucks party.

The caucasian women is in her 20’s and was found in the shower in the Oaks apartments on Market Street. 

She was wearing a black long sleeve top, denim shorts and white runners when found.

It is believed the woman was out partying when she met the group of men from the ACT and NSW.

They returned to the Oaks just after 2 am this morning, by 8 am the woman was dead.

The circumstances around the death are unknown.

Homicide detectives say an autopsy is being carried out on her body.

They hope finger prints will help to identify the woman.

Four men in their late 20’s and early 30’s are still in custody.

Charges are yet to be laid. 

ORIGINAL STORY: A woman's body has been found in a Melbourne apartment and four men have been taken into custody by homicide detectives.

The woman, who is yet to be formally identified, was found dead in a serviced apartment in Market Street in Melbourne's CBD at 8am on this morning (Sunday).

Police say the exact circumstances surrounding her death are unknown. 

The four men are currently being interviewed.
