Shooting breaks out in Melbourne suburb

Residents are worried they're on the verge of a 'gun war'.

With Police called to the suburb twice in two days, Roxburgh Park residents are worried a 'gun war' might be kicking off in their suburb.

Two teenage boys were wounded by gunshot and hospitalised after "a number of shots were fired", and a third man reportedly sustained facial wounds and was treated at the scene.

On Wednesday night a twenty-one year old man was shot dead within 3km of the scene, prompting residents to express their concerns, particularly with a school so nearby.

"I'm scared for my family," resident Eddie Duman told 9NEWS, adding,"It's a very quiet neighbourhood...these things never happen around here."

At this, no arresets have been made.
