Dream job: Nutella is hiring 60 taste-testers

By Hayley August 7, 2018

This is not a drill.

Italian company Ferrero, famous for manufacturing nom-worthy products Nutella and Ferrero Rocher, are looking to hire 60 part-time taste-testers at its Italian HQ.

The successful applicants will become “sensory judges”, working for two hours, two days a week - with no experience required.

Soremartec Italia, who conduct research and development for Ferrero, said in the job listing:

“We are looking for people who would like to learn how to taste cocoa, hazelnut grains and other semifinished sweet products.”

It’s the first time the company have hired non-professionals for their team - instead opting to train “regular consumers” for three months hoping to “tame” their sense of taste and smell, and teach them how to communicate their nom levels in words.

After training, a selection of the recruits will score a “long-term” gig with the company.

Time to move to Italy, eh?
