Aldi fans are losing their minds over the release of this new product

By Christina Cavaleri October 24, 2017

Two of our favourite things have come together!

Aldi shoppers in the UK are already going crazy for the new product that is about to hit shelves, and to be honest, we are too! the supermarket is reportedly releasing a new range of dessert wines which includes a 500ml bottle of Rubis Chocolate non-vintage wine for £9.99 ($A16.69).

Apparently, the wine is a "chocolate lover's dream" and has hints of smooth dark chocolate, fruits and dried figs. It's also won a 'Silver Outstanding' award at the International Wine & Spirit Competition in both 2015 and 2016.

The Rubis Wine website says:

"Rubis is an indulgent blend of fortified tempranillo wine and premium chocolate flavour.

"Notes of rich cherry and red fruit enveloped in velvety premium dark chocolate means Rubis can be enjoyed as an after-dinner treat or on any special occasion."

“It can be served at either room temperature or chilled over ice for that ultimate chocolate experience.”

Now, we do have some bad news, but also some good news... Apparently, News Corp spoke to Aldi about whether or not we too will have access to the chocolate wine, and they said no. However, there was a light at the end of the tunnel. The spokesperson said in a statement:

“ALDI operates in a number of countries, in which varying products are sold in each market. Unfortunately we won’t be selling chocolate wine, as indulgent as it sounds.

“We are always listening to our customers and if chocolate wine is deemed to be in popular demand on Australian shores, we’ll be sure to pass this feedback onto the team.”

So, if we all start petitioning for the chocolate wine we might get it! Teamwork makes the dream work, right?! And we really want some chocolate wine!

They also added:

“In the meantime, there are a number of exciting liquor products set to be released over the upcoming Christmas period. Shoppers can keep an eye out in catalogue and online to see what festive liquor will be in-stores next.”
