We’ve been hanging Christmas tree lights wrong this whole time

We do not like this one bit

So apparently we’ve been hanging Christmas tree lights wrong this whole time

We do not like this one bit

Hanging lights on your Christmas tree is the real nightmare before Christmas.

All of those tangled coils and there’s always ONE little light that’s bust and disrupts the circuit so you sit there for ages trying to figure out which sucker has ruined the fun.

It’s stressful, sure, but can also be a lot of fun.

And hey, having fairy lights on your tree sure makes it look pretty.

But we have a question for you: how do you hang your lights on your tree?

Probably wrapped around the branches like a normal person right?

Right.

From top to bottom yes?

YES.

Well what if we told you you’ve been doing it wrong this whole time?

According to American design and entertaining expert (yes, that’s his official title) Francesco Bilotto, Christmas trees should be hung VERTICALLY.

As in rows draping DOWN from the top of the tree.

???????

Believe us, we’re just as outraged.

But Francesco swears by this method, telling House Beautiful that it ensures the lights won’t get lost in the branches and “Every tip of your tree, from branch to branch, will winkle with delight.”

We’re all for delightful twinkles but this just feels WRONG.

And we might hate it, but half the fun is tangling up the lights when pulling them off the tree so they’re ready for us to de-tangle again a year later.

Don’t mess with our Christmas vibe Francesco.
