About the smooth Festival of Chocolate

The smooth Festival of Chocolate in The Rocks, Sydney is Australia’s biggest 2 day celebration of sweet indulgences on Sat 12 & Sun 13 August 2017

From rich, dark bean-to-bar chocolate made by hand to mouth-watering macaroons, silky smooth gelato, doughnuts filled with Nutella and profiteroles hand piped with velvety chocolate custard the smooth Festival of Chocolate will bring your dessert-craving dreams to life!

This year’s festival will excite your senses with:

The Lindt Lounge: with your chance to personalise your own Lindt Excellence Bar and win a $10,000 Diamond Ring inspired by Lindt Excellence and created by Australian Chocolate Diamonds.

Located: Tallawoladah Place (on the lawn in front of the Museum of Contemporary Art)

Cooking demonstrations in The Callebaut Test Kitchen Stage proudly built by Knebel Kitchen from industry heavyweights Kirsten Tibballs (Savour School Melbourne and author of “Chocolate”) Jean Michel Raynaud (La Renaissance Patisserie and author of “The French Baker), Jodie Van Der Velden (Josophan’s Fine Chocolates), Giovana Falanga and Riccardo Falcone (Executive Pastry Chef, Urban Purveyor Group)

Located: on the Overseas Passenger Terminal Forecourt

The Baci Chocolatier’s Quarters featuring:

A Pop Up Baci Chocolate Shop and over 10 artisan chocolatiers showcasing chocolate made with skill, artistry and passion.

Acclaimed Pastry Chef Dean Gibson returning to the Chocolatiers' Quarters create “Bone Shaker” a moving chocolate showpiece created from over 180 kilos of Callebaut chocolate. Having been in production since January and boasting its own production team including an engineer, Bone Shaker is not to be missed.

Located in the Cargo Hall, Overseas Passenger Terminal 

Mr Black Espresso Martini Bar – Sit back, with Sydney Harbour and the Opera House as your view and sip on a decadent Mr Black Espresso Martini – topped with a delicious Tiramisu donut topper from Nutie Donuts! Try the "smooth Chocolate Ale" created exclusively for the festival by Endeavour Beer and Tap Rooms, The Rocks while you groove to smooth tunes!

The smooth Star’s Stage – Meet and get your photo with smoothfm’s very own Richard Wilkins, Melissa Doyle, Cameron Daddo and David Campbell

Whether you’re a new wine lover or a connoisseur, our Touring Cellar Door will help you master your wine journey. Located on the Overseas Passenger Terminal Forecourt

The smooth Relaxation Station

Relax and indulge with the smooth Angels all day at the smooth Relaxation Station. Sit down, relax and meet the smoothfm on air talent*,snap a pic and upload it to socials with #smoothfm for a free souvenir picture and Lindor Ball.

The Sydney Props Specialists Jungle Laneway

An ode to the history of chocolate, let Sydney Props Specialists take you on a journey into an Aztec jungle. Special guest acclaimed chocolatier Jodie Van Der Velden will be scuplting a "mini chocolate jungle" entirely out of Callebaut Belgian Chocolate!

Located: Atherden Laneway


This year’s line-up includes amazing offerings from Black Star Pastry, Gelato Messina, Serendipity Ice Cream, N2 Gelato, Zumbo Patisserie, The Original Chcowrap, Jasper & Myrtle, The Profiterole Project, The Dessert House, Dessert Jars by Rocco, The Vogue Café, Sir Braxton Chocolate Bar, Piazza D’Oro and more
