The glorious fairytale is coming to life.
Continuing their streak of magic, Opera Australia and John Frost have announced they will be collaborating to produce Rodgers and Hammerstein’s breathtaking musical Cinderella, for the first time in Australia.
Based on the classic fairytale, the tale of Cinderella is as old as time. It follows the story of a young woman forced into servitude by her wicked stepmother, who dreams of a better life and a magical prince to sweep her away.
Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella is the Tony Award-winning musical from the creators of The Sound of Music, Carousel and Oklahoma.
The musical masterpiece offers a surprisingly contemporary take on the narrative, weaving in modern concepts of injustice and social inequality.
This lush production features an incredible orchestra, jaw-dropping transformations and all the classic moments that make Cinderella an iconic tale; The pumpkin, the glass slipper, the masked ball and more.
Be transported back to your childhood as you rediscover some of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s most beloved songs including In My Own Little Corner, Impossible/It’s Possible and Ten Minutes Ago in this hilarious and romantic experience for anyone who’s ever had a dream.
