PSA: The Book of Mormon has set its Sydney closing date

And it’s sooner than you might think

Following a record-breaking season in Sydney, The Book of Mormon has announced it will be leaving the Sydney Lyric Theatre on Friday 8 February 2019.

The final Sydney show will come almost a year after The Book of Mormon opened in the Lyric Theatre and two years since it first hit our shores in Melbourne.

But the musical isn’t leaving completely as it is due for at least two more seasons, moving to Brisbane’s QPAC from 16 March followed by the Festival Theatre, Adelaide from 27 June 2019.

Winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, the Grammy for Best Musical Theatre album and four Olivier Awards including Best New Musical, The Book of Mormon set a record for the highest grossing on-sale of any musical theatre production in Sydney’s history with more than 45,000 tickets sold by the end of the first day of public sales, and is the highest grossing musical in the Princess Theatre’s 159-year history in Melbourne.

So it’s safe to say the show has been a raging success.

If you want in on the action before it departs, then make sure you book your tickets A.S.A.P.

Final Sydney tickets will go on sale on 17 December from BookOfMormonMusical.com.au.

The Book of Mormon will be in Brisbane’s QPAC Theatre from 16 March 2019 and then at the Adelaide Festival Centre from 27 June 2019. Book tickets at BookOfMormonMusical.com.au.
