‘War Horse’ The Play Is Coming To Australia

By Isabella Bull December 18, 2019

Giddy up!

Direct from a sold out season in London, the award winning theatrical production of War Horse is making its way to Australian shores.

Based on the beloved Michael Morpurgo novel, and the inspiration for the film adaptation, War Horse tells a powerfully moving story of courage, loyalty and friendship between a young boy called Albert and his horse Joey, set against the backdrop of the First World War.

Hailed by Time Magazine as ‘a landmark theatre event’, this remarkable and imaginative drama filled with stirring music and songs is a show of phenomenal inventiveness.

At its heart are the astonishing life-sized puppets created by South Africa’s Handspring Puppet Company, who bring breathing, galloping, charging horses to life on stage. An unforgettable theatrical experience, ‘not to be missed.’ (Chicago Tribune).

If that’s not enough, War Horse has literally won more than 25 international awards and has now been seen by over eight million people worldwide, in 98 cities... across 12 countries.

Thats a big deal.

And if you need any more convincing - the play even has Her Majesty the Queen’s seal of approval.

War Horse is touring Melbourne, Sydney and Perth… and according to the Queen, tickets are a great Christmas gift.
