Aldi announces a three litre bottle of prosecco for Christmas

By Christina Cavaleri September 15, 2017

Well this Friday just got a whole lot better

With only 15 Fridays left till Christmas, it’s no surprise there is already talk of Christmas products arriving.

Aldi has just announced they will be launching an enormous bottle of prosecco in time for everyone’s favourite day.

The jeroboam of premium DOCG Prosecco will fill 24 glasses that is equivalent to three litres. Yep, that’s correct this new glorious bottle of bubbly is three litres.

The Italy's Veneto region is basically four bottles in one and Aldi are pricing it at just ($66 AUD).

Good Housekeeping reports, the Prosecco has a light nose with "fresh citrus fruits and wisteria flower” and features a "refreshing acidity and soft sherbet taste”.

Aldi has been hailed for it’s award-winning wine and spirits, from $15 gin to an $8 Côtes de Provence Rosé.

The 2017 Melbourne International Spirits Competition saw the supermarket take out three gold medals.

One for Aldi’s Tamova Vodka which costs $26.99, Bluegrass Kentucky Straight Bourbon, $29.99 and another for O’Donnells Irish Liqueur, $12.89. Winning silver was Darley’s Gin which costs $27.99, while the supermarket’s own Highland Earl Blended Scotch Whisky, $27.99, won a bronze tying with Dewar’s The Vintage 18-year-old Scotch Whisky which you can get from Dan Murphy’s for $99.99!

Sadly, the Prosecco is only available in the UK from November 14, but fingers crossed Aldi brings it to Australia because let’s face it, we’re known for our incredible skills in drinking.

Now, the only concern you’ll have at Christmas is how it’s going to fit in the fridge.
